How we made it safe.
44,000 square meters and includes six floors
The Deloitte building in Waterfall, Midrand spans 44,000 square meters and includes six floors of office space and four basement floors for parking. Construction of the modern building began in late 2017, and it now serves as the central location for Deloitte's offices in Woodmead and Pretoria. Aevitas, an architecture firm, designed the headquarters to meet Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Rating, while Countryline Africa handled landscaping. The exterior of the building boasts plant boxes and hanging plant features, which required angled casting slabs for optimal water drainage.
A healthy indoor environment.
The interior design concept of the office building is based on a racetrack that encircles a central atrium, bringing future design to the present day. Each floor of the racetrack is covered in Desso carpets with unique colour themes and patterns. The building's facade is made of flush double-glazing and aluminium composite panels that undulate in response to a north-south orientation, creating a sculptural and dynamic form. The design maximizes daylight and views to reduce heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and lighting loads and create a healthy indoor environment.
Cairnmead Industrial Consultants served as the health and safety consultants during the project's construction, ensuring that all work was carried out safely on site. We are proud to award the project their Stamp of Approval, recognizing the professional team's dedication and the building's testament to teamwork.
